Notices

Craft, Coffee & Tabletop Sale – Saturday 7^th November in the All Saints Centre from 10am – 3pm. A range of craft and tabletop stalls with a light lunch available in the afternoon.

Help Needed – to hand out booklets for Remembrance at the war memorial from 10.45am on Sunday.

Can You Help? – as welcomers and sidesperson at All Saints, especially as we approach the very busy Christmas period, starting with the Christmas Tree Festival on 29^th November – 6^th December. There will be a ‘job description’ on the info table at the back of church.

Commemoration for the Bereaved – Sunday 15^th November at 3pm at All Saints. There is a list at the back of the churches for the names of loved ones you wish to be remembered.

Tuesday Morning Prayer – There will be no Morning Prayer this Tuesday 10^th November, then from 17th November it will be at St John’s at 8am. All are welcome to this prayerful start to the day, about 30 minutes following the order for daily Morning Prayer with time for open prayer for ourselves and the world using the Daily Prayer app. 

All Saints Stitchers – will be holding a stall at All Saints Café on Wednesday 11^th November and at St John’s Rest Stop Café on Friday 13^th November, both 10am -12pm. There will be a variety of Christmas novelty items. Bring your friends, have a coffee and browse our stall.

St Andrew’s Quiz Night – Friday 20^th November at 7pm at St John’s Hall. Teams of 6 max. £12.50pp, includes ploughman’s platter. There will be a bar and raffle. Please email your team’s name and numbers to Tim at: woodlandsgp@gmail.com

Paint, Sip & Smile – 21^st November at 7 – 9.30pm at St John’s. Decorate a tote bag as you sip your favourite tipple (bring your own drink), £5 per person. Please book in advance with the details on the front page.

Farewell Peter and Helen Service – Sunday 22^nd November at 3pm and All Saints. This will be Peter and Helen’s final service in Mickleover and Radbourne. Everyone welcome and refreshments will be served. Usual 10am services will still be going ahead at All Saints and St John’s.

All Saints Christmas Tree Festival – Sunday 29^th November at 4pm. The Christmas ‘carols and songs’ themed tree festival will begin with a carol service with Newmount Brass Band during the Our Mickleover Christmas Festival. All Saints Stitchers will be in the Centre selling their crafts and refreshments. The church will be open daily until 6th December to view the Christmas trees and vote for your favourite, opening times to be announced.

Getting Ready for Christmas at All Saints – Thank you to everyone who helped with harvest flowers. Next, Christmas decorating and Christmas Tree Festival! We would like decorated gift wrapped (empty) boxes of various sizes for our windowsills and base of font. Any size, from margarine tubs and upwards, as long as they are beautifully wrapped for Christmas. We will start decorating on Friday 27^th Nov 10am – 12pm prior to Tree Festival and complete the decorations on 8^th December 2pm. Any help would be appreciated. New Opera Company – are holding their Winter Concert again this year at St John’s on Saturday December 5th at 2.30 pm. The usual excellent singing and warm welcome that so many of you enjoy on a cold Winter’s afternoon. Book the date now, more details to follow.  We will, as usual, be supporting St John’ s Charity – ‘Friends of Kenya’s Children’   

Wreath Making Workshop – Sunday 6^th December in St John’s Hall. There are two sessions, 12 – 2.30pm or 3.30 – 6pm. Join us for an afternoon creating your own unique Christmas wreath. All supplies provided with guided tuition and refreshments. £15 per person. Contact St John’s office for tickets.
